Overview

Zip Game Unlimited ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you visit https://www.zipgameunlimited.com.

Information We Collect

We do not require account registration, and we do not ask you for personal details to play. When you play, your browser stores game progress locally on your device — such as your cached daily puzzle, your current level and points, and your in-progress game state. If you choose to sign in with an optional account, we store the account details you provide (such as your email address) through our sign-in provider. We also collect standard, aggregate usage data through analytics to understand how visitors interact with the site, and our advertising partner may collect advertising data as described below. Puzzle-quality sharing is no longer offered from game pages. Browsers that previously enabled it may still send limited puzzle-quality events until they stop sharing on this page.

How We Use Information

We use information to operate and improve the game, to remember your progress on your device between visits, to understand aggregate usage so we can make the site better, and to respond to feedback and bug reports you choose to send us.

Optional Puzzle Improvement Data

Zip no longer shows the in-game "Help improve puzzles" opt-in control. New visitors are not automatically opted in. If this browser previously enabled puzzle-quality sharing, we may collect first-party puzzle-quality events such as the board fingerprint, puzzle mode and size, whether an attempt started or completed, restarts, backtracks, timing totals, device/input category, and whether a next puzzle was requested until sharing is stopped. We use this data in aggregate to understand which puzzles are confusing, too easy, too hard, or technically broken.

Puzzle-quality collection does not include your movement path through the grid, account email, Clerk identity, ad identifiers, or cross-site identifiers. If enabled, the site may create a Zip-only random pseudonymous participant ID so we can distinguish repeat play on this same site; it expires within 30 days. We respect browser privacy signals such as Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. Previously enabled browsers can use the control below to stop future sends, clear unsent puzzle-quality events, and remove the local puzzle-quality participant ID.

Third-Party Services

We use Google Analytics 4 for privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics that help us understand overall usage patterns; it does not identify you personally. Our site is also served through our hosting platform (Vercel). Advertising on the site is managed by our advertising partner, Playwire, as described below.

Advertising (Playwire)

All or partial advertising on this Website or App is managed by Playwire LLC. If Playwire publisher advertising services are used, Playwire LLC may collect and use certain aggregated and anonymized data for advertising purposes. To learn more about the types of data collected, how data is used and your choices as a user, please visit https://www.playwire.com/privacy-policy.

A cookie is a small text file sent to your device by a web server that enables the website to remember information about your browsing activity. First-party cookies are created by the site you are visiting, while third-party cookies are set by domains other than the one you're visiting. Our advertising partners may place third-party cookies, tags, beacons, pixels, and similar technologies to monitor interactions with advertisements and optimize ad targeting. The following information may be collected, used, and stored in a cookie when serving personalized ads: IP address, operating system type and version, device type, language preferences, web browser type, and email (in a hashed or encrypted form).

If you sign in with an account, we may share a hashed (pseudonymized) version of your email address with our advertising partner to improve advertising relevance. Your plain email address is never shared for advertising purposes.

Please note that disabling cookies may limit access to certain content and features on the website, and rejecting cookies does not eliminate advertisements but will result in non-personalized advertising. You can find more information about cookies and how to manage them at allaboutcookies.org, and more information about interest-based advertising and how to manage it at youradchoices.com.

Cookies & Local Storage

Your browser stores game progress in local storage so the site can remember your puzzles and scores — this is functional storage used to run the game, not tracking. Browsers that previously enabled optional puzzle improvement data may also keep that preference and a short-lived Zip-only random participant ID until sharing is stopped here or the data expires. In addition, Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies, and our advertising partner may set cookies and similar technologies as described above. Where required by law, a consent banner lets you manage your cookie and advertising choices. You can also clear or block this data through your browser settings.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. Our analytics provider processes aggregate usage data on our behalf so we can measure and improve the site, our advertising partner (Playwire) processes data as described above to deliver and measure advertising, and optional puzzle-quality events are used by us to improve Zip puzzles and diagnose puzzle issues.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information handled through the site. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

We respect your rights under applicable privacy laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), such as the right to access or delete personal data. Because your game progress is stored locally, clearing your browser's site data removes it from your device. You can also opt out of analytics through your browser's controls.

Children's Privacy

Our site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Data Retention

Game progress stored locally in your browser persists until you clear it. Aggregate analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's retention policy, and advertising data is retained by Playwire according to its own retention policy. Optional puzzle-quality events are designed to expire after 30 days, and the local Zip-only puzzle-quality participant ID also expires within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change.
